Sun Mountain Golf Push Cart Makes Walking Easier
Mike Bailey of WorldGolf.com recently posted a story about his first-hand experience using a Sun Mountain Speed Cart SV1 golf push cart.
In the article Mike asserts, “The best part about using the SV1, however, is that it brings golf back to its roots. Being able to walk from the tee directly to the fairway and the green is the way golf was meant to be played — not from the sides of the course and the cart path.” Continue Reading »

C-130 is Best Golf Cart Bag
Sun Mountain’s C-130 golf bag remains the company’s best-selling golf cart bag as it enters its seventh year in production. Every year the designers at Sun Mountain have made improvements and modifications but the foundation of the bag has remained constant: individual club-divided, reverse-oriented top; enough pocket space to live up to its cargo-plane referencing name; all pockets accessible even when the bag is on a cart; and light enough that it can be easily carried from car to cart. Sun Mountain Golf Cart Bag Gets Rave Reviews
The new for 2012 KG:3 golf cart bag is the subject of a nice review by golf equipment review website, ThreeGuysGolfBlog.com.
The reviewer states:
“….One overlooked feature that I think is equally important is a well designed strapping system for securing the bag to the cart. Specifically, when you strap your bag on a cart you not only want it to be tightly attached but also maintain accessibly to the pockets. This is where the Sun Mountain KG3 shines. You will notice that the bag has a slot on either side where the cart strap goes through.”
The new for 2012 KG:3 golf cart bag is light in weight (weighing only 6.5 lbs) but heavy in features offering individual club protection, multiple lift assist handles and pockets specific to the needs of the 21st century golfer.
The KG:3 cart bag includes a 10.5”, 15-way divided top offering full-length club protection and a separate putter well for easy access. The top of the KG:3 also includes Sun Mountain’s patent-pending three handle-holds offering convenient spots to grab with both hands when lifting the bag onto a cart. An additional hand-hold incorporated into the base of the bag offers an easy place to hold when lifting the bag in and out of a car trunk.
Graphics on the KG:3 are noticeably modern, in keeping with the new-from-the-ground-up design philosophy used on this bag. Color combinations for 2012 include: black/white/lime, black/yam/gunmetal, navy/blue/yellow, blue/titanium/lava, and black
KG:3 retail price of $229. For the retailer nearest you, call 800-227-9224 or visit www.sunmountain.com.

The August issue of Golf Digest magazine includes the Golf Push Cart Hot List.
The story says that the editors’ tested a dozen pushcarts and found seven that stand out. Two of those seven standouts are the Sun Mountain Speed Cart SV1 three-wheeled golf push cart and the four-wheeled Sun Mountain Micro-Cart.
About the Speed Cart SV1 the Golf Digest Equipment Editors said, “We love the roll of the big wheels and the brackets that secure your bag without straps.”
Regarding the four-wheel Micro-Cart the story reads, “This four-wheel pushcart is stable and surprisingly light, and it quickly folds into a compact size.” To put some numbers to these words – Micro-Cart was the lightest golf push cart tested, weighing in at 13.8 lbs. and the cart folds to the miniscule 52 cubic inches. Sun Mountain Headwind is a new golf windshirt that blocks wind, is so lightweight you barely know you are wearing it, and it even repels water.
Recently, some members of the Golf Partners Club tested the Headwind golf windshirt and here are a few of their comments:
I golfed in windy, drizzly 40-degree days here in Wisconsin, and this shirt completely blocked the wind — and the drizzle beaded up and fell right off. I was dry and comfortable and I didn’t have to do anything other than give a good shake at the end of the round. Lightweight and roomy, it’s as if I didn’t have the shirt on. The fabric is quiet also — no swishy sounds of cheap raingear. — John Wirtz

Golf Road Warriors Take-On Scotland with the Help of Sun Mountain Golf Rain Gear
A group of golf travel writers under the banner of Golf Road Warriors set off en masse recently for a full week immersion in Scottish golf. Fully aware of the country’s reputation for unpredictable weather; the writers called on Sun Mountain to provide golf rain wear.
(The folks at Sun Mountain being equally aware of the likely mercurial weather sent golf wind wear, as well.)

Every year it seems more tours are allowing the use of golf push carts in competition. The newest entry for the 2012 season is the LPGA’s developmental tour, the Symetra Tour. For economic reasons, players on the “Road to the LPGA” typically do not use professional caddies opting instead to carry their own clubs. The ability to use a golf push cart now offers each player another option. Continue Reading »
