Defective design or defective manufacturing?

"The air leaks out at the brass threaded adapter for the hose attachment. The leak is where the adapter is pressed into the plastic. I submitted for a return weeks ago and I’m still waiting for processing."

"Replacement works great. (Original design requiring a sharp angle in the flexible hose in order to successfully screw the hose onto the valve leaves a lot to be desired.) Also, thought the inability to pump up the tire was due to a bad tube and purchased a new one only to learn the flexible hose was leaking/not pressurizing inner tube/tire. Coulda’ saved $ if I was able to determine the flexible hose was the culprit."
