GOLF DIGEST EDITORS’ CHOICE PUSH CART 2021

An update of the Pathfinder 4, the PX4 has many of the same winning features, plus several updates. Like the Pathfinder 4, the PX4 folds/unfolds in two easy steps and has built-in storage. The new single-piece handle allows the cart to be pushed with one hand and the updated console tray has dual-umbrella attachments. The two front wheels extend to accommodate larger bags (a 5mm Allen wrench can make this adjustment). This cart includes a drink holder.

"I had a previous version of this cart. The old one was lighter and had a lock that prevented the cart from opening when lifted. This new cart doesn't have it, and I miss it a lot."

Fantastic cart, perfect size.

"I’ve had this cart for years now and it is great. I’ve carried it with me while traveling work to many states and walk 6.5 miles, 4-5 times a week currently with it and it’s perfect. The amount of space that it takes up when folded up couldn’t be better either, easily fits in the trunk of my car with clubs and other bags. Highly recommend."

Stable and easy to push

"4 wheels make it nice and stable. Easy to push and negotiate obstacles. Extra net is great for head cover. Storage clip for umbrella holder broke the first time I used the cart."

Poor materials and engineering

"Reading 2023 posts echo most of my issues with the px4. Bought my cart 3 years ago. Poor quality is biggest complaint. Within first month locking assembly failed. Stripped threads from soft metal. Got a free replacement and within another month same thing. Mechanically inclined, so fixed it by jam nutting tension knob side. Within first year bag straps frayed or broke. Again free replacement. Last issue is I also have a premium Sun mountain 11 pocket bag that doesn’t even fit well in cart (probable bad upper support design). Suspect bag engineers and cart engineers never talked to each other. So biggest complaint is poor part quality and engineering. Positives are smooth handling, storing and convenient storage areas. Also found customer service easy to work with and prompt replacement service. If engineering was as good as customer service they’d have a great product."

"this cart started falling apart after 3 weeks of use. The knob that tightens the top part of cart didn't work and I had to have new screws put in after 3 weeks. After that it never worked properly. I do golf a lot and I walk with a cart. I have had the cart for about 2 years.. which I know sounds like a long time, but shouldn't a cart this last more than 2 years? because now I have to throw the cart away. the elastic straps that hold the golf bag broke and some of them are thread bare, two screws fell off the cart and I couldn't close it after using it. I had to force it closed to get it in my car. and now I can't open it up again. I now need to replace the cart, but I do not intend to buy Sun Mountain brand."

QUESTION

"Love my sync bag and this new px4 cart. HOWEVER, I have an issue trying to get the bag to fit properly on the mountain the bottom of the cart/bag. I have to tilt the cart way back to try to get the bag to slide on the mount intended to hold it security. Appears that the bag wants to be more upright than the frame provides to sit properly. Please advise how I can remedy this."
