2014 PGA Show Recap

The 2014 PGA Merchandise Show is here and gone. Suitcases are unpacked. Clothes washed and put away. Booth and product that was in the booth is rolling back into the warehouse. Now it’s time to offer up a bit of a re-cap.

Those who have been following Sun Mountain for the past 30 years can appreciate that Sun Mountain ALWAYS has something new to show-off. First it was the lightweight golf bag made of durable materials. Then it was the first golf bag with a built-in stand. The list goes on: elliptical topped bags, wind shirts, golf fleece, push carts, roller-top handles, golf travel bags with legs, golf bags with hip belts, and on and on and on and on.

Broken-down by product category some of the highlights of the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show included:

Combo – push cart and cart bag in one

Front 9 – extremely lightweight and small for the minimalist who still wants a stand bag with a dual strap that can carry 14 clubs, a rain suit, half-dozen balls, a water bottle…..

Cumulus – really, really lightweight and our most breathable yet rain suit now in ladies, too, and short-sleeve option.

ClubGlider Tour Series – golf travel bag with legs that support the weight and wheels that make gliding from parking to check-in a breeze.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Sun Mountain and the PGA Show without some prototypes of some things in the works such as a new push cart that closes automatically at the flick of a switch and a stand bag that weighs merely two-and-a-half pounds. That’s right, 40 ounces! Think about that.
